On Wednesday night, the Utah Jazz will take on the Toronto Raptors, a team that is hungry for a victory after losing in triple overtime last Saturday to the New Jersey Nets. A Raptors victory doesn't seem all that improbable after five members of the Jazz sat down for practice on Tuesday due to injury. Not to mention, they were blown out 131-109 on Monday night against the New York Knicks. Here are the names of the injured Jazz players:
Paul Millsap (knee) He tried to play on Monday night, but was clearly not giving his all on the court.
Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) Known as AK47, Kirilenko has been called a 'soft' player who lets the littlest thing slow him down. In other words, while other players might push through their injuries and try to help their teams, other players soak up the bench at the first opportunity.
Francisco Elson (sprained left ankle/inflamed left knee) He missed the game on Monday as well.
Kyrylo Fesenko - (back spasms)
Ronnie Price - (sprained right big toe) He has tried to play in several games, but the toe has become a significant reason for him to warm the bench.
If games were decided purely on the basis of standings, Utah would seem to have their next two games in the bag. Toronto, although angered by their recent loss, are 17-46. After the Raptors, Utah will go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, also playing with a losing record, 15-50. But the Jazz aren't playing with a full roster of healthy athletes and Wednesday night's winner is anyone's guess.
