The Bledsoe SideKick Ankle Brace is a single upright functional ankle brace unlike any ankle brace or support. Made of aerospace aluminum super-alloy, the SideKick Ankle Brace features control for chronic ankle instabilities or early rehab of acute ankle sprains where ankle plantar-flexion and dorsi-flexion is permissible.

The SideKick Ankle Brace fits under the innersole of the shoe to permit the shoe to control the foot while the remainder of the brace controls the lower leg. It can be quickly removed and changed to another shoe.

Indications

This device is indicated to increase support in the inversion and eversion control of chronically unstable ankles, and for increased inversion and eversion control for grade 1 and 2 acutely sprained ankles where dorsiflexion and plantar-flexion is permissible and inflammation is under control.

Sizing Chart

The Brace Shop wants to make sure you have the right size ankle brace

Place your foot on a flat surface with the leg upright.

Small: 2 1/2"-3 3/4" height

Large: 3 3/4"-4 3/4" height

Measure the height of the inner ankle bone from the floor to the point which protrudes the most on the side. Make sure to stand on a hard flat surface (without a shoe) when taking this measurement. Measure to the nearest 1/4" (6mm), indicate left or right, and the height of inner ankle bone.

What Causes Chronic Ankle Instability?

The most common cause of chronic or long term instability is multiple ankle sprains. Each time you twist or sprain your ankle, you cause further damage and stretching of the ankle ligaments.

In severe cases, braces like the Bledsoe Sidekick is ideal for maximum stability, to prevent further damage and prevent long term arthritis in the ankle.

This device is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 90 days for wraps, pads, straps and normal wear components, 180 days for mechanical functionality and components. These warranties apply to devices that have not been modified or subjected to misuse, abuse or neglect.
