"Good for short periods. I broke my ankle in 3 places, my heel, and fibula over 18 months ago. I had surgery with plates and screws placed on both sides of my ankle. This injury has stolen my life! I am constantly looking for relief. The air cooling bags are good for swelling, and does offer some support. The bags are removeable and are easily placed back onto the stirrup. I also liked the velcro closers on this stirrup, they spin so you can have one strip going one way and the other one going the opposite direction, which again gives you better support.
