Under normal circumstances, a non-displaced fracture of the tibia or fibula usually takes approximately 6-8 weeks to heal.

It may take longer if you are diabetic, smoke, drink or have poor circulation. When the fracture is displaced (separated), it may require surgery to bring the bones back together.
