Brace completely supports my wrist. I have de quervain's tenosynovitis and it has made it painful to use my right wrist for any type of activity. With the Breg's Wrist Splint w/Thumb Spica I can continue my daily chores pain free. And, the price is much less than the orthopaedic's charges for similar braces.
The product is very good and fit the best it could. It supports my thumb and has helped the inflammation of the joint to go away. The size was just as advertised which was great,
The splint has reduced my pain when wearing it, but has not eliminated it. The service was speedy which is important when someone is in pain.
I am so happy with this product. It keeps my thumb and my writst completely imobile when the arthritis, the tendinitis kick up. It is happening more and more than not. In this brace, I can almost immediately feel it relax.
I managed to stress my right hand with a combination of heavy computer use and shoveling a 150 foot driveway of 6 inches of snow all by myself to the point where I've caused De Quervain's tendinosis Even pulling my bed sheets over my head to sleep or cutting veggies with a knife rendered a pain that left my hand pretty useless. I paid it no mind yet had no idea what was going on with it for two weeks until I talked to a relative who is a physician. Fearing I would push this to a surgical issue (because I would really stress it thinking it was just a tight muscle that needed stretching, the fool I was), I immediately jumped onto the web and found this very splint and ordered it right away. As soon as I put it on and snipped the excess straps, I was unbelievably relieved to feel no pain since it kept my thumb and wrist in a neutral position and couldn't move it all willy-nilly like before. I've had it on for a little less than a month, and already I'm getting my range of mobility back, I notice there is much less pain in my hand when I take it off to shower, and I don't have to worry about stressing my hand at all especially in my sleep. The only thing I have issue with is I wore a knit sweater and it draped over the velcro... when I took it off it tore up the sleeve a bit, but other than that, it is seriously heaven-sent.
Fast ship. Very comfy. Only one thing I can complain about and that is that the velcro strap for the thumb area is already not sticking well and I have had to resort to putting a rubber band around that to keep it on better. Makes me mad as I have only had this a couple of weeks. Nonetheless, this has helped my pain considerably.
Very happy with this splint. It is comfortable and very easy to don. My thumb and wrist pain is much improved sinceI I started wearing it. Only negative: the metal thumb and wrist stays tend to slip down and have to be pushed back up into their proper positions.
Great support due to length past wrist...as opposed to ones in drug stores. The thumb strap irritates my web space but I just readjust or leave it undone. Immobilizes thumb effectively. Great price...good quality. As a physical therapist...I recommend brace..
My de Quervain's tenosynovitis flared up recently after being absent for a few years. (Yes, I did something to inflame it...) Luckily, I dug around and found my splint. Whew! Things are improving. For a few days I tried a drugstore brace, which made it worse. With de Quervain's you can't have tight constriction on the wrist, which is what most other braces do.
Product shipped out ASAP as received quickly which was awesome as my wrist was in extreme pain. Tendonitis is slowly improving after wearing for a couple of weeks. Very supportive and strong brace yet allows me to continue tasks as normal.
It does it's job well, I suffer from tendonitis and it stabilizes my wrist and thumb where I don't feel any pain.
